Reviews

42 years of coming here & it is still completely amazing…..even in the only rainy week of the summer! Thank you

Lovely house, lovely countryside.  wonderful holiday retreat- so relaxing. Everything you could wish for in a half term holiday cottage. We had a super time and can’t wait to return!

We have all enjoyed it very much, peaceful and restful. A very comfortable house. Ozzie our dog enjoyed the nearby walks and beaches. We also had fun swimming & paddle boarding.

Thank you so much for the stay, it was amazing!

Blessed with spectacular Autumn sun & colour in the trees. A special place for us.

“It has been an amazing week. We have canoed round to Mothecombe and have crabbed….We recommend the surf on Mothecombe on a windy day….I can’t wait to come back next year and add to out growing repertoire of expeditions.” The P family and Mr C (wooff!)

“Best possible holiday spot in the world and didn’t go further than Holbeton all week and had the most awesome high and low tides.Even caught some fish just off Bugle Hole in a kayak. Such a perfect house, most wonderful part of the world. We all love it.”

“We had a totally tip top time in spite of the rain. Beautiful beaches & fab. surf.”

“The house is perfect, very well laid out and great facilities. Lovely to cosy down after a day exploring and feel at home. The views are stunning….a walk in the estuary is a must and Mothecombe House and beach are beautiful. We will be back with more of family in tow….

“How wonderful to be back here after 40 years…. the estate and estuary are as beautiful as ever.

“What a treat to have a “fully” equipped kitchen….much neater than my own, so it was a pleasure to be in…..we visited to bring our children and parents together of a little “quality” time. Quality it was!… Linda

The Bosun’s Cottage has a tarmac parking area outside the cottage itself. There are two steps over the threshold and a further step up into the main hall. The living rooms are carpeted throughout and there are flat wooden thresholds at all doorways. There are runner rugs in the hallway and a hearth rug by the fireplace in the sitting room. The downstairs loo, kitchen and pantry all have a linoleum, floor.

Fourteen carpeted steps lead up to the first floor of the Bosuns Cottage which is carpeted throughout with flat wooden thresholds at each door. The bathroom has a linoleum floor and the shower has a 30cm step into the cubicle and the bath being a standard height.
