On the East side of the Estuary, Wonwell Beach stretches the full length of the Erme and out to sea. Open all year round and accessed through the village of Kingston, this beautiful sandy beach is very popular with dog owners. With lots of secluded coves all surrounded by woodland, there is an old lime kiln to explore and plenty of sheltered spots to picnic, birdwatch, swim or sunbathe in the evening sun.
There is very limited parking, on the verge of a very narrow wooded lane. The lane does get very easily congested, especially at peak times.
Please note that for environmental and safety reasons, overnight camping and BBQs on the beaches is strictly prohibited.
