and brew up your tea in grand style to go with your picnic.

The Victorian beach house on Mothecombe Beach provides a perfect place for romantic proposals, picnics, or warming up in front of a roaring fire after surfing in stormy weather. It is available to Flete Estate Holiday Cottage tenants for hire by the day.

Its original purpose was as a changing room for the Mildmay family when they came to swim at Mothecombe in the sea water pool that was built at the same time and now is a ruin.  It was created by enlarging an old lime kiln in the cliffs. The limestone was brought in by boat and burnt in the kiln to create powdered lime to be spread on the fields to improve the soil.
