River fishing on the Flete Estate

The Erme Estuary

The Estate reserves the rights to game fishing but it is sometimes available to Holiday Cottage guests.  Prior notice should be given by contacting the Estate Office on 01752 830234, and a map will be available to show where you may go and where to park.

Local Fishing

The Westcountry boasts over 35 species of fish - a British Record! Try for mullet and bass right in the estuary or for mackeral in Mothecombe Bay. If you don't have a boat, fishing parties can be arranged through Nick Oatway: Kingston 01548 810249. Please bear in mind fishing trips are very dependent on tides and weather conditions so do check with Nick before your holiday starts to avoid disappointment.

Salmon, Sea trout, Brown trout and Rainbow trout can be caught on local rivers, lakes and reservoirs in season. If you want to be sure of your supper there are fish farms nearby which offer excitement for beginners and almost guaranteed success! Sea fishing excursions can also be found in Plymouth, or for the more adventurous why not try shark fishing from Looe.
