Exeter
|
Exeter was established as the most westerly Roman
outpost many years ago, since then it has had an eventful history.
In the days of the Normans it was one of England's largest towns
and the expansion of the wool trade
supported the city during the Tudor period. Exeter is still a place
of great historic value. The cobbled streets and The Cathedral of
St. Peter make it a delightful place to visit. The cathedral is
one of the finest examples of medieval architecture and is the most
distinctive feature of Exeter's skyline. The Royal Albert Museum
displays fine artefacts from Exeter's history and you will find
there is something to interest everyone.
